Engaging Insights

Since 1953, winners of the French Open have received trophies crafted by the esteemed Parisian jewelry house, Mellerio dits Meller. These trophies, meticulously fashioned from pure silver, feature intricately etched decorations on their sides.

A special tradition accompanies these awards! The name of each new singles champion is engraved on the base of their trophy. Winners also receive custom-made pure silver replicas of their trophies, typically presented by the President of the French Tennis Federation (FFT).

The Coupe des Mousquetaires

The trophy for the men’s singles champion, pays homage to the legendary “Four Musketeers”. Weighing 14 kg and measuring 40 cm in height and 19 cm in width, this prestigious trophy underwent redesign in 1981 by Mellerio dit Meller. While each champion receives a smaller-size replica, the original trophy remains the property of the FFT.

The Coupe Suzanne Lenglen

For the women’s singles champion, named in honor of the iconic tennis player since 1979. Introduced in 1986, this cup closely resembles one previously awarded to Suzanne Lenglen by the city of Nice. Originally housed in the Musée National du Sport, the trophy was replicated by the FFT from 1979 to 1985. Like its counterpart, each champion receives a smaller-size replica, while the original remains the property of the FFT.
