Lottoland launches Sportland

Until now Lottoland South Africa has only been known for its amazing lotto betting offering. But now this licensed bookmaker has expanded its betting portfolio and has ventured into sports betting.

The new sportsbook product has a seperate section on the main Lottoland website and is called Sportland.

While Lottoland is the market leader for fixed odds lotto betting we have in this article a closer look at their sports betting offering and how it compares to the offer of the best betting sites.

Sportland is not a standalone betting site but part of the main Lottoland website. You can access the sports product from there or directly via www.lottoland.co.za/sportland.

Betting Markets and Odds

Sportland covers the most popular sports in South Africa. Therefore, you find Rugby, Cricket as well as Football in the list of sports. Aside from these you can bet on Tennis, Motorsports, Cycling, Golf , Boxing and MMA. Compared to other sports betting websites the variety of sports is quite limited and real punters wouldn’t be satisfied. The same goes for the offered market and also the odds. The latter are decent but not outstanding. Esports is also not available.

Offers & Promotions

Usually the launch of a new site or section goes ahead with a good new player welcome bonus. Not so at Sportland where no welcome bonuses or any sports related promotions are currenly available. Sportland by Lottoland – Final Words

If you are not yet a Lottoland customer who wants to place a few sports bets on the side while enjoying your fixed odds lotto betting then there is currently no real point to join Sportland. There are no dedicated sports betting offers or promotions while the selection of sports and available markets seems also yet quite limited. As Lottoland is doing lotto betting really well we expect that they adjust their current sports betting product over the coming weeks. If Sportland wants to be “a one-stop online sports betting portal” as announced by their ambassador, netball player Vanes-Mari Du Toit, then there is a bit of a way to go until Sportland will have the level of other excellent sports betting sites.
